Semifinalist

Friendship Public Charter School

Washington, DC

Every employee of this hearty network, the first among black-led charters in the nation, was put to work, no matter what their position description was, to visit families and help distribute 3,800 devices and 400 hotspots to families and scholars, who then could access a technology driven education that Friendship had presciently already worked to establish. The Reggio-Emilio program was deployed at five learning hubs which were opened to guide students without supports at home, inspiring the concept of expansion to more students who thrive in personalized environments.
